Elmer Driedger : ウィキペディア英語版 | Elmer Driedger Elmer A. Driedger, QC, BA, LL.B, LL.D (1913–1985) was a Canadian lawyer and a leading authority on statutory interpretation. He worked for the Canadian Department of Justice for over a quarter century, rising to Deputy Minister and later became a professor of law at the University of Ottawa.〔 ==Early life== Elmer A. Driedger was born in Osler, Saskatchewan, 14 January 1913〔The Law Society of Saskatchewan records his birth year as 1914, but this contradicts his CV at Library and Archives Canada as well as the recollections of his wife, Elsie, in a 1991. Further, given his entry date into university in 1929 and there is no reference to what would have been the exceptional admittance of a 15-year-old, the year of 1914 is more plausible.〕 to a Mennonite family and grew up speaking German as well as English. He attended elementary school in Osler and high school in Rosthern.
